One quick step before we meet — makes our first conversation much more valuable
Hi [Client First Name], I'm looking forward to our upcoming meeting. Before we get together, I'd like to share one quick step that will make our time together significantly more productive. I use a platform called TaxStatus that allows you to securely share IRS-sourced financial data directly with me — with your permission. Instead of gathering forms and uploading documents, you simply click the link below and authorize access in under 60 seconds. This gives me a complete picture of your income, accounts, and financial activity before we sit down — so we can spend our meeting focused on your goals and uncovering opportunities, not collecting paperwork. [INSERT CONSENT LINK] Your data is protected with bank-level encryption and is only accessible with your explicit consent. You stay in control. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Best sent 1–2 weeks before the first meeting. Pair with a calendar invite so it doesn't get lost.
Your data, your control — a quick step before we connect
Hi [Client First Name], Ahead of our first meeting, I want to explain something I think you'll appreciate. I use TaxStatus to access IRS-sourced financial data with my clients' permission. Your data belongs to you. The IRS already has your information on file — TaxStatus creates a secure, consent-based way for you to share it directly with me, so I can identify planning opportunities that are specific to your situation. Click the link below to get started — the process is simple and will walk you through a secure authentication in less than 60 seconds. No paperwork, no documents to dig up, and you can revoke access at any time: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Effective for referrals from cautious clients or anyone who has expressed data privacy concerns. The emphasis on simplicity and revocability is especially important here — this client needs to feel in control before they'll click.
Before our first meeting — one step that changes everything
Hi [Client First Name], Before we meet, I want to make sure I arrive with a real picture of your financial situation — not just what we can piece together in the room. I use TaxStatus to pull IRS-sourced data directly, with your permission. It means I can walk into our first conversation already knowing your full income picture, any accounts you may have forgotten about, and specific opportunities worth exploring — so our time together is focused on what actually matters to you. Click the link below to get started — the process is simple and will walk you through a secure authentication in less than 60 seconds. No documents to dig up, no paperwork, no hassle: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Works well for high-net-worth prospects or clients coming from an advisor who wasn't proactive. The emphasis on arriving prepared signals a level of diligence most clients haven't experienced before — it sets the tone for the entire relationship.
A new tool I'm using ahead of your review — I think you'll find it valuable
Hi [Client First Name], Your annual review is coming up on [DATE], and I wanted to give you a heads-up about something new I'm incorporating into my process. I've recently added TaxStatus to my practice — a platform that gives me a direct, IRS-sourced view of your financial picture in real time. Even for clients I know well, it surfaces details that don't always come up in conversation: complete income sources, account activity, and transcript data that can reveal planning opportunities tied to recent tax law changes. With everything shifting on the tax planning front, I want to make sure we're not leaving anything on the table. Click this link below to authorize in less than 60 seconds: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] Your data is protected with bank-level encryption and is only shared with me. [Your Name]
Pro tip: "Even for clients I know well" does the work of preempting the "didn't you already know this?" reaction — it frames TaxStatus as a layer of rigor, not a gap-filler.
Quick action needed — your TaxStatus authorization
Hi [Client First Name], Your TaxStatus authorization has expired. Without it, I'm working from an incomplete picture of your finances — which means I may miss planning opportunities or changes that are relevant to you. Click the link below to re-authorize in less than 60 seconds so I can continue monitoring your IRS activity, flag any changes that affect your plan, and make sure we're capturing every opportunity available to you: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Run this for any client who consented more than 3 years ago. Works well as a batch send.
Mid-year check-in — one quick thing
Hi [Client First Name], We're halfway through the year — a good time to make sure I have the most complete picture of your finances before anything changes at year-end. I've recently started using a platform called TaxStatus that gives me a direct, IRS-sourced view of your financial activity — income sources, account changes, and tax data that don't always surface in our regular conversations, plus the ability to monitor your IRS account for things like unexpected notices, audit flags, and potential fraud. It takes less than 60 seconds to authorize, and it means I can flag anything worth acting on before December while there's still time to do something about it. Click the link below to get started: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Great for clients who go quiet between annual reviews. Shows you're actively watching their situation on multiple fronts.
A quick question about your HSA — you may have money sitting somewhere forgotten
Hi [Client First Name], Job changes happen fast, and one thing that often gets left behind is a Health Savings Account from a previous employer. These accounts don't disappear — they just sit dormant, unmanaged, and easy to forget about. I use TaxStatus to get a direct, IRS-sourced view of your financial picture, and it's one of the ways I can help uncover accounts like these that might not come up in our regular conversations. If you've changed jobs in the past few years — or even further back — it's worth a quick check. Click below to authorize access in less than 60 seconds: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] If there's anything sitting out there, we can talk about consolidating it and putting it to work as part of your broader plan. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Works especially well for clients who have changed jobs in the last 1–5 years. The HSA angle is a strong conversation starter — most clients don't realize the account still exists or that it can be rolled over and invested.
An extra layer of protection on your IRS account — I think you'll appreciate this
Hi [Client First Name], I know protecting your financial information is important to you, so I wanted to share something I've recently added to how I work with clients. I now use a platform called TaxStatus that gives me a direct, IRS-sourced view of your account activity — including the ability to monitor for fraud attempts, unexpected notices, and audit flags in real time. If something gets flagged by the IRS, I'll know about it immediately — well before a letter ever arrives in your mailbox. For clients who have dealt with fraud attempts in the past, this kind of early warning can make all the difference. If anything comes up, we can act immediately — whether that means contacting the right agencies, responding to a notice, or putting a plan in place before an audit becomes a bigger issue. Click the link below to authorize access in less than 60 seconds and let me start monitoring on your behalf: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] Consider it an extra set of eyes on your IRS account, working on your behalf. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Lead with the monitoring and protection angle for clients who have expressed concern about identity theft or fraud. The "before a letter arrives" detail tends to resonate strongly — it makes the benefit immediate and tangible.
A different kind of first conversation
Hi [Prospect First Name], Most first meetings with a financial advisor start with a questionnaire and a stack of documents to dig up. I'd like to do something different. I use a platform called TaxStatus that lets you share your IRS-sourced financial data directly with me — with one click, in less than 60 seconds. Instead of spending our first meeting gathering information, we can spend it identifying what you may be missing: overlooked accounts, tax planning opportunities, and gaps in your current financial picture. TaxStatus uses bank-level encryption, and your data is only accessible with your explicit consent — you stay in control and can revoke access at any time. Nothing is shared beyond what you authorize. Click the link below to get started before we meet — no documents to dig up, no obligation, just a better first conversation: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Differentiates you from competitors immediately. The security paragraph is especially important for cold or lukewarm prospects — addressing the hesitation before they voice it significantly increases click-through rates.
Following up — one step to make our next conversation more valuable
Hi [Prospect First Name], It was great meeting with you. To prepare for our next conversation, there's one step I'd suggest. Click the link below to securely authorize access to your IRS-sourced financial data — it takes less than 60 seconds: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] This gives me a complete picture of your financial situation — income sources, retirement accounts, HSAs, and assets that don't always come up in conversation — so I can come back with specific planning opportunities relevant to your situation, not generic advice. It also allows me to monitor your IRS account on an ongoing basis for things like fraud attempts, unexpected notices, audit flags, and penalties, so we can get ahead of anything before it becomes a problem. Looking forward to connecting again. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Highest conversion rate when sent within 2 hours of the meeting while you're top of mind. The detailed benefit list after the link reassures prospects who may hesitate before clicking.
[Mutual Contact] suggested I reach out — one step before we connect
Hi [Prospect First Name], [Referring Client Name] suggested I reach out. They mentioned you might be in a good position to benefit from some of the planning work we've been doing together. Before we meet, I'd like to share one quick step that will make our first conversation much more valuable. Click the link below to securely authorize access to your IRS-sourced financial data — it takes less than 60 seconds and your information is protected with bank-level encryption: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] This allows me to arrive at our first meeting with a complete, personalized picture of your situation — income sources, retirement accounts, HSAs, and assets that don't always come up in conversation — so we can skip the generic questions and get straight to what matters. I can also monitor your IRS account on an ongoing basis for fraud attempts, unexpected notices, and audit flags, so nothing catches you off guard. Looking forward to connecting. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Name-dropping the referral source in the subject line significantly increases open rates. Always get permission from the referring client first. The detailed benefit list helps warm up a prospect who may not yet fully trust you — the referral opens the door, but the specifics close it.
A quick step that makes tax season easier for both of us
Hi [Client First Name], As we head into [tax season / year-end planning], I wanted to introduce a step that will make things easier for you — and unlock a better level of planning on your behalf. I use TaxStatus to access IRS-sourced financial data — with your permission — and I've been coordinating with [CPA Partner Name] so that we're both working from the same complete picture of your finances. When your advisor and CPA are fully aligned, it means fewer document requests, less back-and-forth, and no gap between your tax strategy and your financial plan. More importantly, it means we can proactively identify savings opportunities and planning strategies together — rather than each of us working from a partial view. Click the link below to authorize access in less than 60 seconds and let us get to work on your behalf: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Especially powerful when you have an established CPA referral relationship. The "advisor and CPA working together" framing shifts this from a data request to a value-add — most clients have never had their advisor and CPA operating from the same information at the same time.
Before tax season gets hectic — a quick step
Hi [Client First Name], Before tax season gets fully underway, I want to make sure I have the most complete picture of your finances on file — so I can do the heavy lifting for you. Click the link below to authorize access in less than 60 seconds so I can review your IRS activity and last year's tax data ahead of our conversation — identifying any savings opportunities, planning strategies, and potential issues before they become your problem to deal with: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] The goal is simple: you show up to tax season with a plan already in place, not a pile of questions. [Your Name]
Pro tip: Pair this with a review of the prior year's return once you have it. Positions you as proactive during a high-attention window.
Your personalized tax prep checklist — no more guessing what to bring
Hi [Client First Name], Tax season doesn't have to mean scrambling for documents at the last minute. This year, I want to make the process easier for you — and more efficient for everyone involved. By authorizing access through TaxStatus, I can review your IRS-sourced financial data and build a personalized tax prep checklist specific to your situation — not a generic list of every document that might apply to someone, somewhere. Just exactly what you need, based on your actual income sources, accounts, and tax history. That means less back-and-forth with your CPA, fewer last-minute document requests, and a smoother filing season from start to finish. Click the link below to authorize access in less than 60 seconds and I'll get your personalized checklist ready before we meet: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: This is a strong differentiator — most clients have never been offered a personalized tax prep checklist. Lead with that angle in any follow-up conversations and it tends to generate immediate engagement from both the client and their CPA.
Tax season is the right time for this conversation
Hi [Prospect First Name], Tax season is one of the best times to take stock of where things stand — and make sure you're not leaving money on the table. I use TaxStatus to help clients get a full picture of their IRS-sourced financial data in one step. It often surfaces things people didn't know were there: forgotten retirement accounts, over-withholding, or planning opportunities that a standard tax return doesn't show. If you'd like me to take a look at your situation, click the link below to get started — it takes less than 60 seconds and your data is protected with bank-level encryption every step of the way: [INSERT CONSENT LINK] [Your Name]
Pro tip: Works especially well for business owners and self-employed clients who tend to have more tax complexity.
